ISO/IEC 20000:2018 is the first international standard for service management. Like its predecessor BS 15000, ISO 20000 was developed to reflect best practice guidance from the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework. It also supports other IT service management frameworks and approaches such as Microsoft Operations Framework and components of ISACA's COBIT framework.
